Turners Hill (Away) - Division 2
Result: 1 - 2 (loss)

Scorers: Mullen

Despite the result this was a good performance from the 2nds on an absolutely terrible pitch. We started well and pressurised Turners Hill into some mistakes with Kevern causing problems up front and Irvine and Baker playing well in the middle. Ashdown chipped just over and Kevern shot wide but then TH battled back and we were on the back foot for the middle part of the half. Several corners were dealt with and the back four had limited them to a few longshots but a long throw was only half cleared and their mid then skipped round two poor challenges to slot home. The game was now pretty end to end with chances for both sides being spurned. 1 - 0 at half time.
TH started with the greater urgency 2nd half and their wingers got in a few times but luckily for us the final ball was not quite their. Fugl struck over for us but the real blow was Kevern pulled a hamstring when through 1 on 1 and was unable to convert. TH pressed again and had several corners which were all dealt with until a headed clearance was met on the volley 20 yards out, their mid smashed an unstopable shot past Ellison and the game looked dead. We didnt roll over though and Fugl and Irvine continued to cause problems from midfield, Baker smashed over, Irvine wide before Brown forced a corner by chasing what looked a lost cause. Fugl centred and Mullen powered a header into the top corner from 8 yards. The game was end to end for the last 10 minutes as we chased an equaliser and TH countered well, they hit the bar late on and Arneaux missed for us. TH are a good side and look like they will go up with Dormans but the 2nds should not be disheartened with this performance, MoM for the Swans went to Irvine for another superb display in the engine room.
