2nd Team Squad

Peter Ashdown

Peter Ashdown

Nickname: Ash
Age: 27
Position: Right Back
In his 5th season with the Swans, Ash is a solid right back and LFC’s Mr Consistent on pitch. He always gives 100% and is a good athlete, strong in the air and the tackle. Ash was the 2nd team’s player’s player of year in the 08/09 promotion winning season. Much more involved in the social side of late, Ash spends most of his time off the pitch trying to persuade people he is not on tour this year!!

Sam Baker

Sam Baker

Nickname: TBC
Age: 18
Position: Centre Mid
In his first season with the club Sam is already establishing himself as a tenacious midfielder. Competitive in the tackle and with a good range of passing Sam has started his first season well and is now established in the reserves after an impressive pre season. The only sore point is that Sambo’s LFC reputation has been tarnished by rumours he may leave next season to become a tax dodging student!!!

Harry Bannister

Harry Bannister

Nickname: Campo
Age: 17
Position: Right Mid
The first of the new breed of cygnets to break into the reserve team squad, Campo joined us this season after finishing his youth football with Cuckfield and Hassocks. Despite possessing the same offensive hair, Campo plays nothing like the ex Bolton legend Ivan - He can play anywhere across the middle but is best on the wing, has great feet, a turn of pace and knows where the net is. At 16 he is one of the brightest new prospects at LFC.

Adam Bartlett

Adam Bartlett

Nickname: Bottle Top, Tops
Age: 19
Position: Left Back
Tops has been with the club 3 seasons now and is pushing hard for a first team place after some starts last season. Phenomenal in the air considering his small stature, Tops also has a nice left foot and is pretty quick. Has been nursing a dodgy ankle so far this season but when fit is one of the first names on the team sheet. Got his name after swallowing the top of a lucozade bottle in a pre match warm up 2 seasons ago!!

Joe Chilmaid

Joe Chilmaid

Nickname: Chillers, Chills, Azad, Monkmaid
Age: 22
Position: Centre Back
Joe is another success story of LFC, starting in the 5ths a couple of seasons back, Chillerz quickly carved out a reputation as a no nonsense centre half and stepped up from the 3rds to the seconds last season. He was an integral part of the side that won promotion to div 2. Whilst many legitimately refer to him as rather basic, no one ever questions his commitment on the pitch and he is notoriously strong in the tackle. Joe is always involved in team banter and also loves the social side, having survived 3 tours and a multitude of messy socials down the club!

Jimmy Elkins

Jimmy Elkins

Nickname: Elks, Mini Elks
Age: 21
Position: Striker
Unfortunately Jimmy has been out injured so far this season; which will please opposition defences as his blistering pace, movement and dribbling have given many a centre half a torrid time. Elks has been accused of lacking composure in front of goal but answered his critics by being the club’s top scorer last season!! He is possibly the quickest player at LFC and having been with the Swans for 6 years, Jimmy finally made it on tour in 2008 where he was part of the inaugural father/son tour combination!

Ian Ellison

Ian Ellison

Nickname: Cow, Moo, Moo Cow, VC, Fraser
Age: 27
Position: Goalkeeper
Turned up out of nowhere to join the 06 tour to Magaluf where he quickly established himself, winning tour personality. Cow used to be a tough tackling midfielder but after a nasty injury in 07, he switched to playing in goal. In two seasons Moo has established himself as the 2nd best keeper in the club. An agile shot stopper and quick off his line, Cow is also a great organiser of his back 4 and the joker in the reserves pack whilst in the changing room.

Barry Irvine

Barry Irvine

Nickname: Bazza
Age: 22
Position: Right Mid
A versatile player capable of performing anywhere in the front 6, Bazzers best position is out wide where his direct style and pace can really trouble full backs. Baz chips in with his fair share of goals as well and after 3 seasons with LFC is an established member of the reserve team squad, helping us reach div 2 last year. Off the pitch Baz can now be found out with the lads most Saturdays and despite his inability to grasp any drinking games, he is proving a dark horse in this year’s poker league!!

Shaun Kevern

Shaun Kevern

Nickname: Vosper, Walrus
Age: 23
Position: Striker
Shaun joined Lindfield from local rivals Hassocks for the 07/08 season and his sublime touch, cultured passing and long range shooting (don’t ask him about the 30 yarder against Old Vs!!) quickly made him a 2nd team regular. Able to play up top or in central midfield, Vosper is probably the most technically gifted player in the reserves but his main weakness is mobility. Vosper has been working on this and has even been seen at training this year – if he gets fit a few first teamers will need to watch out! A big personality on the last two tours but unfortunately a Plymouth fan (who have crueller stolen our chant of…..GREEN ARMY!)

Kieran Lee

Kieran Lee

Nickname: Kizza
Age: 17
Position: Left Mid
A quick left winger in his second season with the club, Kizza is the most experienced of the 3 reserve team cygnets. He broke into the 3rds in his first season and this year has kicked on into the reserves. He is pacey, a good crossed off either foot and works tremendously hard for the team. Kizza is working hard this season and catching the eye with his neat passing and tricky wing-play.

Tom Mullen

Tom Mullen

Nickname: Mugs, Mullet, Mouth, Queer Eyes, Rapist
Age: 26
Position: Centre Mid
A club veteran of 10 years despite being only 26, Mugs has played for all 5 sides at some point in his LFC career. Mugs swapped rugby for football at the age of 16 and has worked his way up through the club ever since. A tough tackling holding midfielder, Mugs wears his heart on his sleeve and is one of the most committed players at club. His tackling ability has been developed over the years as a number of his first touches result in a 50-50 with the nearest opposition player! Despite these occasional horrendous touches and a unique ability to miss the target, Mugs is a great organizer and captain on the pitch; leading the reserves to promotion in 08/09 and picking up the player of the year award.

Harry Ranson

Harry Ranson

Nickname: Muscles, Vidic, H
Age: 19
Position: Striker
First playing for the swans 3 years ago at the age of 16, H took a break to pump iron in the gym all day everyday! He left a slender right back and returned a muscle bound centre forward. His power makes him good at holding up the ball but he can also run in behind defenders and has a powerful strike off either foot. Muscles has come of age this season and despite making appearances for the front side at right back, he is keen to get a run of games up front and goals will surely follow.

David Reed

David Reed

Nickname: Reedy
Age: 29
Position: Centre Back

Karim 'Dave' Shaldoum

Karim 'Dave' Shaldoum

Nickname: Karim
Age: 20
Position: Centre Back
Even taller than his brother, Dave is a new signing this season and could be deputising for his injured older brother once back from travelling after impressing in pre season. Dominates in the air and distributes simply from the back, luckily Dave is not prone to piling forward in open play like his brother!

Mustapha 'Steve' Shaldoum

Mustapha 'Steve' Shaldoum

Nickname: Shalders, Fellaini
Age: 22
Position: Centre Back
Joined the club last season and broke into the reserves straight away, he formed a good centre half partnership with Chilmaid. Despite being a hulking 6 foot 7, Shalders is a surprising cultured footballer with a sure touch and reliable passing. Dominate in the air as you would expect, he also possesses 8 feet go-go gadget legs which are handy in the tackle. Has cut his hair this season after previous jibes about his previous “fro” making him look rather like Everton’s giant midfielder Fellani! Incredibly, it is also not uncommon to see Shalders carrying the ball forward on a mazy run (this is usually accompanied by Mugs b********g him)!!
